Our Leader & Visionary

Elder Daniel Littleton, preacher, teacher, evangelist and musician was appointed to Murray Temple Church of God in Christ (COGIC), February 11, 1997. The name was later changed to "Greater Deliverance COGIC". Our pastor is dedicated and a hard worker. He serves as financial secretary of Mississippi Southern First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ. He is a member of the Jurisdictional Scholarship Foundation, the Jurisdictional Leadership Conference Committee and the Liberal Trinity Senior Citizen Foundation. He has served on the Jurisdictional Pastors' and Elders' Council Committee, which have been hosted at the Greater Deliverance Church facility for the past 2 years.

Elder Daniel Littleton is a visionary and under his leadership publications, programs, departments and organizations were established and organized such as the Lillie Marshall Scholarship Foundation, which provide college scholarships for Greater Deliverance youth and the Scott County residents and the GDC Food Network which distributes groceries to residents in the Scott County, Mississippi area. For several years our leader has echoed and worked diligently to see that the youth of the church get the necessary exposure of the national church. In 2001, he supported the youth trip to Memphis, which included trips to the national headquarters and other monuments of our church and he also supported the youth trip to the Church of God in Christ International AIM's 2002 meeting, in Indiana. Elder Littleton has supported a day of festivities for our children to Planet Rock, Dine-out at Ryan's and other acts of fellowship for the entire congregation.

The development and educational growth and awareness of GDC members is of utmost importance to our leader, therefore he has sponsored several members to attend various conferences to receive tools and training both nationally and locally. Our Pastor believes this ministry God has sanctioned and ordained must not be hid but must be available for all who want to witness and be a part of a Holy Ghost Pentecostal Experience. Therefore, through the television media, our pastor has sought to put Greater Deliverance in the way of sinners, the unchurched and others who may be looking for a church home.

Our pastor has a strong belief in family values, thus, our church motto "We Are Family" was born. Under his leadership, in 2002, GDC Community Outreach, Inc. sponsored an Annual Christmas Giveaway, a Back to School Giveaway with donations from Wal-Mart, Levi Strauss, Office Depot, and Mattel Toys. Pastor Littleton's vision encompasses a new daycare center, "GDC Child Development Center", GDC Family Life Center, Tutoring Program, Adopt-A-School Partnership Program and Drug Awareness Program.

Pastor Littleton is a friendly, humble man and a lover of all people. He can be touched and reached by his members. He is a man after the heart of God and one who is concerned about souls and the welfare of the people of God.
